Men etter mer enn et halvt \u00e5rhundre er realiteten at kj\u00f8nnsl\u00f8nnsgapet fortsatt vedvarer. Bare en liten forbedring har blitt oppn\u00e5dd de siste 10 \u00e5rene.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Er l\u00f8nnsforskjellene merkbare?<\/h2>\n\n<p>Ulikhet i l\u00f8nn for menn og kvinner ligger i gjennomsnittlig brutto timel\u00f8nn. Faktorer som p\u00e5virker l\u00f8nnsniv\u00e5et &#8211; for eksempel utdanning, arbeidstimer, type ansettelse, karrierepauser eller deltidsarbeid &#8211; tas ikke i betraktning. Samlet sett viser imidlertid statistikken at kvinner i EU har en tendens til \u00e5 tjene mindre enn menn.<\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-style-default\"><p>Kortere arbeidstid gjelder 7% av sysselsatte kvinner, n\u00e5r det gjelder menn, er det en andel over 3%.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">L\u00f8nnsgapet er ogs\u00e5 knyttet til f\u00f8dsels- eller foreldrepermisjon<\/h2>\n\n<p>L\u00f8nnsgapet varierer mye fra land til land i Europa. De h\u00f8yeste er i Estland (22,7%), Tyskland (20,9%), Tsjekkia (20,1%), \u00d8sterrike (19,6%) og Slovakia (19,4%). De minste l\u00f8nnsgapene rapporteres av Romania (3 %), Luxembourg (4,6 %), Italia (5 %), Belgia (6 %), Slovenia (8,7 %) og Polen (8,8 %).  <\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-style-default\"><p>I EU tjener en kvinne i gjennomsnitt 15% mindre enn en mann.  <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n<p>Den vanligste \u00e5rsaken til kvinners lavere l\u00f8nn (rundt 30% av det totale l\u00f8nnsgapet) stammer fra arbeid i relativt lavt betalte sektorer (som omsorg, salg eller utdanning). Omvendt, i bedre betalte jobber innen vitenskap, teknologi eller ingeni\u00f8rfag, er det en sv\u00e6rt h\u00f8y andel menn (mer enn 80%).<\/p>\n\n<p>Innenfor de samme yrkeskategoriene er kvinner mindre verdsatt, eller de kommer i lavere karakter etter \u00e5 ha kommet tilbake fra f\u00f8dselspermisjon, eller de m\u00e5 begynne \u00e5 bygge karrieren p\u00e5 nytt.  <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Rettferdig godtgj\u00f8relse gagner hele samfunnet<\/h2>\n\n<p>Ulikhet i l\u00f8nn mellom kvinner og menn \u00f8ker ogs\u00e5 med alderen. N\u00e5r kvinner kommer inn p\u00e5 arbeidsmarkedet, er denne forskjellen relativt lav og utdypes i l\u00f8pet av karrieren, sammen med de \u00f8kende kravene til familielivet. Kvinner sparer derfor ogs\u00e5 mindre, investerer mindre og er mer utsatt for fattigdom i alderdommen.<\/p>\n\n<p>Utjevning av godtgj\u00f8relse er ikke bare et sp\u00f8rsm\u00e5l om element\u00e6r rettferdighet. Det ville ogs\u00e5 styrke \u00f8konomien, ettersom kvinner ville ha mer kj\u00f8pekraft og kunne investere mer. Dette vil ogs\u00e5 \u00f8ke de nasjonale skatteinntektene og lette belastningen p\u00e5 trygdesystemene.
