You know the drill – there are five working days in a week, and you’re taking each one full throttle. If a person does not find the right kind of relaxation, he is at risk of mental burnout. We work hard in our agency too, so we asked our colleagues what they find the best relaxation.
Do they spend their free time actively or passively? Which places do they like to visit and what would they like to do in the future?
Kamila Hrnečková
from the Athens Commercial Department
Our manager Kamila always has to be alert. He communicates with business partners, seeks out new partners, doesn’t move a step without his phone, and often packs his suitcase for business trips. Kamila is responsible for keeping the department moving forward, so she takes her job in stride and, as our director’s right-hand man, has her diary filled from top to bottom.
Without movement, it wouldn’t be her
Where does he draw his energy for the days ahead? “I go to the fitness center at least twice a week after work to work out, and I also get exercise thanks to my dog, who loves it when I throw him a ball or a flying saucer. It’s always a perfect stress relief,” she says. The sympathetic Zvolenč woman likes to go out with her friends and boyfriend Patrik to Pustý hrad. “Movement and nature, that’s what I would treat absolutely anyone who works in an office and under stress,” she says. And the fact that sport is part of her identity is confirmed by the fact that she has been a canoeist for eight years. It is this hobby that she would like to return to. You just need to find enough free time.
Marin Nedelev
from the Bulgarian Department of Athens
Marin is part of the customer support team at the agency, so he has to respond quickly to any suggestions from our clients. We are opening a new office in Bulgaria these days and Marin plays a very important role in this respect.
Loves fishing and travelling
When our Bulgarian colleague wants to clear his head, he packs his rods and chair and goes fishing. He spends hours on this activity and it is the best relaxation for him. But besides the fishing rod, he also has two other friends – a computer with video games and a passport. “I release pressure and tension and calm down when I play and I can’t get enough of travelling. I started it when I was nineteen and I really enjoy meeting interesting people, learning about foreign cultures and trying new cuisines,” he says. What is important to him is not so much the coordinates of the place he is going to, but the people who are going with him.
Do you feel exhausted? Find out if you are at risk of mental burnout.
Kristína Šopňová
from the German Department of Athens
You would find Kristina sitting in the office of our German department, answering one phone call after another. It helps people who want to work as caregivers to find a job, arrange all the necessary things from first contact to departure, and also communicates with business partners.
Shut off thanks to friends
After a day like this, when the phone is barely out of her ear, Kristina needs to get a good night’s sleep. So a great morning wake-up call and good coffee are good predictors of a successful day. “And since I have a sedentary job, I like to go for a workout or a walk after work. But what recharges my energy the most is meeting friends. Thanks to them, I can always come up with different ideas – and I think that’s very important,” explains Kristína.
Her favourite place is Lake Neusiedl in Austria. “I like to go back there. I sit on the pier and enjoy the sunset from there. I always feel like I’m reborn afterwards.” In the future, she plans to help dogs in Slovakian shelters. “I want to walk them regularly, because that’s the least a person can do for them. I will also try to get sponsors who would support the improvement of conditions in shelters and help as many dogs as possible to find their families,” Kristína adds.
