The CV is the document that first gets into the hands of your potential employer. That’s why it’s important to write it as well as possible and to take care with it.
The main purpose of a CV is to introduce you, your education, skills, previous experience and career. The important thing is to interest the potential employer.
First of all, personal details should be correctly mentioned, which will help the recruiter to remember you after the first reading and be able to contact you in case of interest. Do not include unnecessary information such as nationality, marital status or political affiliation. The recruiter is not interested in these details and has no right to ask about them. As for age, don’t be afraid to include your date of birth. If the job is for the elderly or even seniors, age is only an advantage.
Next, make sure your contact details are correct and up-to-date, especially your exact phone number and email. Do not use an email that contains various aliases in the title, or an email created at your current job. Please email your first and last name in your CV. If you don’t have one, create one.
If you add your photo, the recruiter will perceive you more personally. However, choose a serious and recent photo in which you resemble yourself. The photo should be in passport size and if you can’t choose, get advice from a professional.
Next, move on to education. Start with the highest educational attainment. Write the full name of the school, mention the field you studied, your degree and the year you graduated. The CV shall also include external studies and information on non-completion of those studies. If you are still studying, please write your expected time of graduation. If your thesis is related to the position, please indicate the title of your thesis. However, you must expect the employer to ask questions about its contents. You can also add any courses you have taken in this section.
Put the work experience in chronological order from present to past. For each job, indicate the name of the company you worked for and the year you started and left. Briefly and clearly describe the work you have done.
As for language skills, please choose specific languages and levels of proficiency (beginner/intermediate/intermediate/active in both spoken and written language/expert, translator). If you are attending a language school, please indicate this on your CV.
Evaluate your knowledge, skills and understanding required by the job. Mention the successes you have achieved. Please also indicate your computer skills and level. If you hold a driving licence, please specify the groups. It is also a good idea to include the approximate mileage.
For features, highlight your positive points and be original. You can mention your hobbies that characterize your personality.
Check everything for grammatical errors and typos before submitting.
We wish you good luck and success.
