New jobs will be added to Tornal (Revúca district). The four investors are expected to offer around 200 jobs. In an area where unemployment is around 25%, every single job is valued.
The first investor that will help to reduce unemployment is the company Čaro slovenských byliniek (The Magic of Slovak Herbs). There are plans to produce tea capsules, other investors are involved in wood production and there will also be new jobs due to the collection of municipal waste.
Denis Šotník, the representative of the investor of the company “The Magic of Slovak Herbs”, stressed that after the start of production in August this year, the company could work at 70-80%. In addition, the investor wants to grow herbs in the region, which will be used in the production of capsules. For this purpose, the investor wants to lease agricultural land.
The second investor in the region is the company Carman from the Czech Republic, which plans to process oak timber in Tornalá. In total, it plans to invest around 10 to 15 million euros in the project, of which 6 million euros will be invested in technology. Around 90 to 130 people are expected to find work here.
The third investor of the company Woodexim from Rožňava also operates in the wood processing industry. In the local part of Tornaľa-Králik, it plans to establish a sawmill for the processing of deciduous wood, 90% of which is beech logs. Approximately 25-30 people are expected to find work in this company. For a start, the investment is estimated at between EUR 1.8 and 2.5 million.
The fourth investor is the company Brantner, which deals with municipal waste landfill and waste management. It may not create many jobs, but it will contribute to the city’s budget. The company wants to create a collection point where citizens could bring different types of waste, which would then be separated.
The Mayor of Tornala pointed out that they had been waiting for investors for a long time and wanted to fill the industrial park. The increase in the number of investments shows that Slovakia is a country that investors are interested in. Potential investors perceive Slovakia as a stable country.
