As a proper company, we carry out monthly teambuilding events for our internal employees, during which we strengthen relationships. After all, after a hard day’s work, you need to take a break from the hustle and bustle of work and switch off for a while. In addition, team building helps to build collective relationships and gives strength and enthusiasm for further work. They are a matter of course in attractive companies that care about their employees and want to provide them with favourable conditions. That’s why our Atena team regularly takes part in some leisure activities to relax and have a nice experience.

July ATENA teambuilding were in the spirit of EYOF

In the first holiday month we took advantage of international youth sports event EYOF (European Youth Olympic Festival) in Banská Bystrica, where our headquarters is located, and decided to go to encourage young sport talents. On a warm Thursday afternoon we went to the SNP Athletic Stadium, which became the venue of athletics disciplines. We saw several competitive disciplines: sprints, hurdles, hammer throw, high jump, pole vault.

The visit to the event was worth it, because it was exactly when two girls from our country, Slovakia, wonthemedals. One female athlete placed silver in the 400-meter dash. The second one won bronze in the pole vault. But we had the opportunity to see different nationalities win, Czechs, Poles, Hungarians, Ukrainians, Serbians, Romanians, Bulgarians, Greeks, Croatians, Turks, Italians,.. So we had a great sport experience and had a unique moment that we will remember for a long time. Later we moved on to a theatre performance held as part of the side events, which meant we had no shortage of cultural activities.

ATENA teambuilding – in August we became watermen

In August , we wanted to actively do sports ourselves, so we went rafting on the second longest Slovak river, the Hron. We drove by cars to the Mlynčok camping site located below the village of Lučatín, from where we moved by minibus to the beginning of the route. We started the rafting route in the village Nemecká, which is between Banská Bystrica and Brezno. From there our oars led to the final stop, Lučatín. So we rafted the twelve-kilometre length of the river divided into two groups, each in their own raft. The whole trip took us three hours. A bit longer, but the water was quite shallow and several of us are beginners in rafting and were making this trip for the first time. We were lucky to have pleasant sunny weather. After we reached the finish line, we were a bit tired, but we had a new experience.

ATENA September in the sign of action game

In September we decided to visit Laser Game in Banská Bystrica, where we experienced a lot of fun, action and adrenaline. It is a strategy game popular all over the world, based on shooting with light beams. Most of the departments represented by one employee took part and competed: English, Slovak, Croatian, IT, marketing and of course our boss, who did not owe anything to his reputation and was late once again.

We split into two opposing teams, Red vs. Blue, within which we rotated through several games. This game is focused on speed, but also tactics. So we were running, hiding behind obstacles, trying to hit our opponents before they overtake us and hit us first. Our boss was able to turn his score around and eventually climb from second to lthe first place. We were so thrilled by the game, with the music playing in the dark room, that we forgot about the time and the twelve minutes of the game passed like water. We left sweaty, but richer for the great fun, excitement and sport experience.
