Each company has its own date when its history began. Atena has quite a long, fourteen-year tradition. During that time we have gone through various milestones, changes and ups and we have developed and built up the shape we have today.
What does ATENA offer?
The history of Atena began exactly on 14 March 2008 with its foundation. Our company focuses on providing jobs to people who need or are looking for new and better jobs. Atena is an international company. Over the years, we have gradually expanded our operations to various countries in the European Union. Our main activity is the placement of carersfrom Eastern Europe to Central and Western Europe, currently mainly to Germany, Austria and the Netherlands. In economically developed countries, people of all qualifications and even those with lower levels of education have a chance to find a good job thanks to our help. A job that comes with a decent and interesting salary per month, which they would get in their home country for doing a few months’ work.
In addition to the placement of carers, we are known by a diverse portfolio of activities. We offer jobs in the field of industrial production, for example in the form of personnel leasing, i.e. the long-term hiring of employees. We enable our partners to increase the number of employees, giving them the flexibility to respond to changing market demands. Another possibility of cooperation is the temporary work service, where clients have the opportunity to earn extra income through permanent or temporary work. We also deal with a form of one-off fee model – candidates are directly employed by our business partner and they become a part of internal structure of the company. Our portfolio includes services such as payroll service, where we take care of complex payroll and HR processing for companies.
Why was ATENA created?
The founder of the company and its director in one person, Mgr. Marián Klimo, decided to build this company during his studies at the university. As he says, he believed in its success from the beginning, which is the foundation of a successful business or any other activity that matters to us. If we have an idea or a vision, we have to believe in its realization. The company’s goal is to help employers find reliable and skilled people and also, clients find jobs with interesting financial compensation. We want there to be satisfaction on both sides.
And why the name Atena? The company is named after the ancient Greek goddess of wisdom, inspiration, craftsmanship and skills. The name of the company is not a usual or cliche one, on the contrary, it is original, which shows our idea of moving people forward through wise decisions.
History of expansion to the supranational level
In the beginning there was only ambition, but the company has managed to grow internationally in a few years. Gradually, we have managed to start cooperation with several foreign partners. We measure the success of our company not only by our presence in different countries, but also by positive references that speak for us.

In the 14 years of our existence, we have become the biggest provider of care personnel in Europe in the field of 24-hour care. The number of our clients is growing every year and our database currently records more than 1,000,000 job seekers. As a progressive company in today’s internet age, we are also accessible on social media, through which we reach out to our clients and business partners. We keep them informed about news and activities. The main reason Atena was created was because companies and employers needed experienced, skilled and flexible workers.
