In the first session of this year’s Parliament, several innovations were adopted that will have an impact on the activities of entrepreneurs. We’ve summarised the most important changes for you in four points.

Gross salary in the advert

This news is likely to please all jobseekers. We will no longer see the word “agreement” in job offers, which employers were very keen to include in the salary. Employers will now have to state the gross hourly wage for each job offer. Once employed, the salary cannot be lower than the salary stated in the job advertisement. The aim of this change is to help candidates find better paid jobs and push up wages.

Easier employment of foreigners

The Parliament approved a change in the conditions for employment of foreigners in Slovakia. You have already read about these changes in our previous article.

Night, weekend and public holiday allowances

The change in surcharges has been discussed in the media for quite a long time. Several months of negotiations between the government and representatives of employers and employees have reached a final proposal. It was eventually approved by Parliament. The increase will be implemented in two phases. You can read about the specific numbers in our article.

Discounted 13. and 14. salaries

In case the companies will reward their employees generously, the state will now forgive their contributions. On the conditions of operation of the favoured 13. and 14th salaries can be found in our article.
